For durable, natural-looking restorations
Crowns
A crown offers complete coverage for a tooth damaged by decay or trauma, or one that has been extensively filled. As well as providing a restoration that is colour matched to your natural teeth, a crown will also strengthen a weakened tooth and can protect it from further damage.
We offer a range of options, including metal-free crowns, and will recommend the most appropriate type for your tooth.
Inlays and onlays
The placement of a crown requires the removal of a layer of tooth tissue to allow it to fit over the tooth. As we take a minimally invasive approach to dentistry, wherever possible, we try to preserve as much of the natural tooth as we can. This means, instead of a crown, we may use an inlay or onlay to restore and protect a damaged tooth. Like crowns, these are custom-made in a laboratory, but rather than covering the whole tooth they precisely fit the damaged area to replicate its natural shape.
Bridges
A dental bridge is a fixed solution to a missing tooth and often consists of a false tooth positioned between two crowns that slot over the teeth either side of a gap.
Wherever we can, and in line with our conservative approach, we will use a bridge design that preserves as much of the tooth as possible, such as one that can be bonded to the supporting teeth with a dental adhesive, rather than removing a layer of the healthy tooth.
