When I go to the dentist, I also visit the dental hygienist and yesterday (02/10/19), at my 6 monthly check up appointment there was a new dental hygienist – Alicja. I have to say that Alicja was also amazing. I have been to quite a few dental hygienists, but Alicja is the best by far. She was also re-assuring, she was thorough, but even more importantly for me, she was gentle – it didn’t hurt a bit.

I would thoroughly recommend the Dental Practice 21 – I’m so glad that I found them.

I first came to The Dental Practice in Aberdeen in the summer of 2005 – I had a painful dental emergency and had stupidly not visited a dentist for so long that my previous (NHS) one had retired.

No NHS dentist in Aberdeen was prepared to see me at that time – there was a dearth of them in Aberdeen in 2005 and no-one could see me for at least three weeks. I braced myself and decided to go private, expecting to get the problem fixed and then quickly go back to looking for an NHS dentist. The very first practice I called was The Dental Practice at Rubislaw Terrace. The dentist could fit me in that afternoon! That dentist was Steve Bonsor.

I received exemplary care – a temporary repair, an appointment for a permanent filling (the next day as I remember), and was given some easy to understand advice on pain relief, the costs for the current work, and options for continuing as a registered patient. Absolutely no pressure tactics, just simple, honest advice, in a comfortable, relaxing and respectful environment.
It was a revelation to me, and I have never looked back.

I trust Steve’s skill and judgement, and I find it reassuring to note that he is actively engaged in research, teaching and mentoring in many aspects of dental health, so he should be right up to speed with current developments.

My experience of the rest of the practice has been equally excellent. Everyone is friendly and helpful, the hygienists I have seen have been highly competent and personable, and the dental nurses are so efficient you barely notice they’re there when you’re in the chair.

The practice is run extremely well too, as it never seems difficult to find a suitable appointment, and the availability of treatment at short notice has been very good. The txt/email reminder service is also very helpful.

The costs have also turned out to be perfectly reasonable and manageable with Denplan.

The dental care I have received from Mr Steve Bonsor and his team has been second to none. From the outset, Steve’s positive and caring approach put me at ease and instilled confidence in me to undertake much needed dental work. We discussed my treatment plan and I was kept well informed throughout the process, all of which was carried out to an exacting standard. An excellent all round experience, from the booking and email reminder to the professional treatment received. I’m very satisfied of the dental care I’m receiving by Dr Bonsor and his staff. Two months before my wedding I had a problem that could degenerate very quickly. In Italy, where I come from, I had been told twice I had to go through surgery to remove the tooth. Instead, very quickly and painlessly, Dr Bonsor solved my problem. I had no issue with post-extraction thanks to the perfect execution and precise instruction for home care. I’m Dr Bonsor’s patient since then, and advised several friends to go there as well.
