Colin qualified from Queen’s University Belfast in 1988. Following a two-year period in general dental practice, he completed his dental fellowship training at Dundee Dental Hospital in 1993. He then embarked on an Orthodontic training programme at the University of Newcastle, completing his Membership in Orthodontics and MSc in Orthodontics in 1997. Following this, he completed his senior registrar training, initially in Sydney, Australia, and then in Aberdeen.
He undertook the intercollegiate higher assessment in Orthodontics in October 2000 and has since been employed as Consultant Orthodontist in Aberdeen Dental Hospital and School, providing complex multi-disciplinary care for severe malocclusions including Cleft Lip and Palate and those requiring Orthognathic surgery. He is also involved in both Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching and is an examiner at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow.
Colin welcomes referrals from colleagues for private orthodontic consultation and treatment. This service provides patients with specialist orthodontic advice and treatment, with no NHS restrictions or waiting times. Multidisciplinary planning and treatment can be organised within the practice with other resident specialists if required. In addition to providing contemporary fixed appliance treatment, he also offers a range of more discreet and aesthetic appliances, including the Invisalign system.
