Dr Sarah Manton qualified from the University of Edinburgh, where she gained her PhD and undertook her specialist and consultant training in Bristol. She held a Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer post in Restorative and Special Care Dentistry at the Dundee Dental Hospital and School until October 2015, where she led the services for dental sedation and special care dentistry.
She is a registered Specialist in Periodontics, Restorative and Special Care Dentistry and is currently the Vice-Dean of the Dental Faculty at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She has also been appointed as the Clinical Director of the Faculty of Dental Trainers at the Royal College. She is active in a number of UK committees, including being the current Chair of the British National Formulary Dental Advisory Committee.
She has been providing a specialist service in Periodontics for referred patients since 1994, working in St Andrews, Cupar and Aberdeen. She has extended the range of services we can offer patients by setting up our sedation service for dentally anxious patients.
